SmartEducator Fair Use Policy
Overview
The Accelerate (Insights) plan provides unlimited assignments and submissions to give educators the freedom to assess at scale without restriction. This Fair Use Policy exists to protect the reliability and performance of the platform for all users.
What "Unlimited" Means
Unlimited usage is intended for individual educators using SmartEducator in the course of their normal professional teaching practice. This covers all classes, subjects, and student cohorts managed by a single educator within one institution.
Acceptable Use
- Marking assignments and submissions across all your classes and subjects
- Running ongoing assessments throughout the academic year without caps
- Uploading work for all students within your institution that you personally teach
- Using longitudinal tracking, analytics, and insight features across your full student cohort
Unacceptable Use
The following fall outside fair use and may trigger a review of your account:
- Processing assignments or submissions on behalf of other teachers or institutions under a single account
- Automated, scripted, or bulk uploading of content not related to your own students
- Sharing login credentials with other educators to circumvent individual plan limits
- Using the platform commercially to provide marking services to third parties
- Artificially inflating usage volumes through non-genuine submissions
What Happens if You Exceed Fair Use
SmartEducator will monitor usage patterns. If your usage appears significantly outside the bounds of normal individual teaching practice, we will:
- Contact you directly to understand your usage
- Work with you to find an appropriate solution, such as upgrading to a Schools plan
- Only take further action if the issue cannot be resolved collaboratively
We will never suspend an account without first attempting to make contact.
